Our Floortime Level 1 & 2 parent trainings were a huge success!

Both of our trainings were held at Cawn-Krantz in Northbrook. Sherri Cawn,
SLP-CCC and Beth Osten, OT/L, both DIR Faculty members, were the facilitators
for the trainings.

The Level 1 training was held in February and we had 15 families in attendance.
Not only were Moms and Dads there to further their knowledge, but so were
therapists and teachers! One family brought in their entire team to receive training!

Our demonstration family brought in their son, who had a difficult time transitioning into the room. This provided an excellent opportunity for parents to learn how to help the child cope with a difficult environment they were not expecting.

The Level 2 training was held in April with 9 families in attendance. Our demonstration family was a good lesson in how far Floortime can take your child. The child was very engaged and verbal and Sherri and Beth did a fantastic job
pointing out the not-so-obvious motor planning difficulties that still needed to be worked on.

Of course, our heartfelt thanks to Sherri and Beth for very graciously donating their expertise free of charge so that parents can gain knowledge to benefit their
children.
